Event Account Designer

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated, proactive, and team-oriented Account Designer, a role that combines strong sales expertise with creative event design. In this position, you will be the main point of contact for selected clients—leading them from initial inquiry and concept development to contract negotiation and final execution. Your goal is to achieve an annual sales target of $1–$1.5 million while ensuring each event meets The Lux Productions’ high standards for quality and innovation. Your ability to connect with clients, collaborate with colleagues, and deliver results will be key to achieving success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Client Acquisition & Account Management

  • Respond promptly to a high volume of inquiries via phone, email, and web.

  • Manage and develop strong client relationships, delivering exceptional service from concept to completion.

  • Attain an annual sales goal of $1–$1.5 million in event revenue.

  • Guide clients through design and planning, serving as their primary liaison.

Event Design & Production

  • Craft comprehensive event proposals, timelines, and designer layouts.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to oversee lighting, audio, video, and staging installations.

  • Provide creative recommendations on décor, color schemes, and technical layouts.

  • Ensure a seamless transition from pre-production to on-site installation.

Site Inspections & Relationship Building

  • Conduct site visits to evaluate venue logistics and solidify client confidence.

  • Cultivate relationships with venues, event planners, and industry partners.

  • Represent The Lux Productions at industry events, tradeshows, and mixers to pursue new leads.

On-Site Execution & Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact during event setup and execution, including weekends and evenings.

  • Quickly address real-time challenges, ensuring top-tier quality control and client satisfaction.

Post-Event Follow-Up & Retention

  • Collect client feedback and debrief with production teams to assess event success.

  • Identify repeat business and referral opportunities.

  • Implement strategies to maintain and grow existing accounts.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Event Management, Theater, Design) or equivalent experience.

    • 3–7 years of experience in event design, production management, or event sales (5–7 years strongly preferred).

  • Technical Proficiency

    • Familiarity with lighting, audio, video, and general event production workflows.

    • Proficiency in Productivity Software, CRM and Microsoft Office; CAD or similar software experience is a plus.

  • Skills & Competencies

    • Outstanding organizational and project management capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.

    • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.

    • Familiarity with San Francisco Bay Area venues and event markets is advantageous.
